I am so excited to finally launch Orlando is Happening. I need to tell you, this site is years in the making.
Let me ask you, do you want to visit Orlando? The options are so endless, plus the entire Orlando-metro area grows and changes constantly. Orlando is happening, all the time, 365-days a year! It can be hard to narrow down itineraries, plan out the details, or find discounts and deals, researching what is new or can’t-be-missed.
The Inspiration
Just before my wedding in 2005, a big, scary hurricane came in and wiped out both the location and airport access in South Florida. We quickly had to scramble to re-route, re-book, and re-think our entire wedding. While I didn’t ever get to wear my gorgeous gown, I was able to have our immediate family join us in Orlando for a small, blue-jean vow exchange. So, that was the first (of many) times I created the most spectacular memories in Orlando. That’s when I realized there are many, many reasons Orlando is truly unique and special. No wonder everybody loves Orlando, right?
The Process
As a big-time foodie at heart, at first I just wanted to eat my way through Orlando, then tell everyone about my tasty restaurant finds (and which spots people are better to avoid). I even had a cute domain purchased, perfect for Orlando restaurant reviews.
I’m also a real estate agent. By 2015 we were planning to relocate to live in Orlando full-time. Which got me to thinking…and thinking some more… Why would I limit this with only restaurant reviews? Yes, all of Central Florida has a thriving food scene, but it also has all these awesome neighborhoods, theme parks, beaches, events, and a growing number of people wanting to make Orlando home.
Along the way, I had to take a break from the project as my late husband’s health caused many delays. Not only did this site have to be paused, but so did my own plan to relocate to Orlando. I did not give up – how I got through those tough times is repeating to myself, “Orlando is happening, because Orlando IS happening”. I finally DID move to Orlando! I’ve been a full-time resident since 2018. And now, I continue to explore and immerse myself in all the ways Orlando is happening. Now, I am fully ready to launch this special project we had planned together.

The Goal
I want to bring tourists, locals, and everyone in between all the information they need to relocate, travel, plan, budget, save money, and stay informed about all things Orlando. With guides swirling in my mind, excitement in my soul, real estate in my blood, and passion for social media based news, I welcome everyone.
